Deep in the rough country Leslie County, a narrow creek runs through steep hills and rock ledges. A traveling preacher came through and declared this place was "hell for certain." The name stuck.

From Devil’s Jump Branch of Hell for Certain Creek came Sergeant Willie Sandlin, one of Kentucky’s great forgotten war heroes. During the first World War this crazy Kentuckian advanced alone against three German machine gun positions earning a medal of Honor. He was credited with killing 24 enemy soldiers.

This shirt features a crowned silver salamander resting inside a ring of golden flames, lovingly restored from an original antique print. In old alchemical and heraldic tradition, the salamander was said to live in fire without being consumed. It is a fitting crest for a place that produced hard stories, strange legends and a man brave enough to walk alone into the gunfire.
