While car shopping tonight the salesman told me all about back-up-cameras & touchless radios in a car I could not afford and meanwhile I was distracted by this storm cloud off in the distance. 20 minutes later I was out on a dock at Old Hickory Lake taking these pics.
Kodak
I love going to a photographers home and seeing beautiful old cameras on display. I took this pic at the brilliant live music photographer Paolo Brillo's home in Bolzano, Italy.
Antique Lens Repairs
Last night I stayed up till 2am repairing and defungasing old 60s lenses. I fixed 2 and broke 1. Took some pics of the family around the house as a bit of a test.
Hello in There.
Walking in the woods singing along to John Prine's "Hello in There" and shooting with a 135mm Minolta MC made in 1970 inspired these pics.
"Old trees just grow stronger
And old rivers grow wilder every day
Old people just grow lonesome
Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello"
So if you're walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes
Please don't just pass 'em by and stare
As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello"
BASEMENT NASHVILLE TONIGHT!
I am going to be raging on the mandolin tonight at my friend Audrey Rose Spillman's show at The Basement (7pm). $5 and you get enough mandolin to last you for at least a couple weeks. Audrey is awesome and writes really cool wild songs and we are gonna be a big 6 piece band.
